1.
Student members cannot be
gainfully employed to receive this membership type --
please see the AGA listing below.
If a student is gainfully employed for less than three years, then
they should be listed as Early Career.
2.
Early career is for those members
who work in private or public
sector jobs with less than three years of
any experience –
this means that someone who worked in private sector for three years and
moved to government sector is considered Full Government, and someone you
worked in public sector for three years and moved to private sector would
then be considered Private Sector.
3.
Full Member – Government is for
those members employed (their
payroll check is issued by a government agency or a not for profit) by a
government agency and have three or more years of work experience.
If someone is working for a private entity as a contractor for a
government agency, even if their office is in a government agency building,
they are not considered Full Government, but Private Sector.
4.
Full Member – Private is for
those members who are employed by a private entity (their payroll check is
issued by a private entity) regardless of where their work is located or
what project they are working on.
5.
Retired – Individuals who are not gainfully employed, and have permanently
retired (including not preparing tax returns for additional income).
